Low vision aids are mainly provided for patients with Macular Degeneration (AMD), and allow the patients to maintain some level of independence with daily visual tasks.
Visual aids are used to increase the illumination, magnification, contrast and visibility of visual tasks. We also provide electronic magnification aids for those with extremely poor sight.
Many patients prefer to have these low vision aids prescribed in the community at our practice, rather than via the hospital, as it is easier for the patient’s carers to manage, and less time consuming for the patient.
We provide advice & counselling to patients & carers on patient's specific visual disabilities.
We keep a large supply of LVAs in stock, and provide them on a "no risk” basis, where patients can return them (in the condition they were supplied) for a full refund within 1 month of purchase.
