LVA Assessment

Low vision aids are mainly provided for patients with Macula Degeneration (ARMD), and allow the patients to maintain some level of independence with daily visual tasks.

Visual aids are used to increase the illumination, magnification, contrast and visibility of visual tasks. We also provide electronic magnification aids for those with extremely poor sight, and those who live independently.

Many patients prefer to have these low vision aids prescribed in the community at our practice, rather than via the hospital, as it is easier for the patient’s carers to manage, and less traumatic & time consuming for the patient.

We provide advice & counselling to patients & carers on patient's specific visual disabilities.
We keep a large supply of LVAs in stock, and provide them on a "no risk” basis, where patients can return them (in the condition they were supplied) for a full refund within 1 month of purchase.

About our Low Vision Services
  • We stock iCaps, Macushield, & Visionace dietary supplements to reduce the risk of macular degeneration development
  • We stock a wide range of various LVA devices from numerous suppliers
  • There is no long waiting list- appointments are usually available within 1 week
  • All devices are available on loan for a 1 month trial period (full payment required)

Eye Tests & Examinations

Our Optometrists carry out a huge array of checks during to your eye examination. These can include testing your eye pressure (to detect glaucoma - which, if undetected, could lead to blindness), checking sideways field of vision and the health of the back of your eye.

All these checks are quick and painless, and will provide us with important information that will help monitor any slight changes over time.

Contact Lenses

We fit a huge variety of contact lenses types to patients across the whole of the UK. We supply lenses to people of all ages, & all prescription types. Using corneal topography and slit lamp image capture we provide the highest standard of care to all our contact lenses wearing patients.

We specialise in iGo OVC, Ortho-K and Paragon CRT Orthokeratology work for all ages from 6 upwards. We are an accredited Chromagen contact lens practice. We supply varifocal contact lenses and contact lenses to correct astigmatism. We can also supply theatrical contact lenses for television productions.

In 2006 we were awarded the title of Contact lens practice of the year at the UK Optician awards.
