What is Orthokeratology?
Orthokeratology is a generic term used to describe
the application of contact lenses to correct vision in such a way that
the lens reshapes the cornea while sleeping. How this works is described
in more detail in other information pages on this site.
Just as
vacuum cleaners (generic term) are also known as Hoovers (brand name),
orthokeratology lenses also have a number of associated brand names. The
three brands that we use ourselves are "iGo OVC", "Paragon CRT", and "OrthoK". There
are many others, but we feel that by using these specific lens types
appropriately we can achieve fast and effective vision correction for
most people.
Our choice of lens designs has given us flexibility
and control over the fitting of the lenses and also over the results
that we achieve.
Orthokeratology gives freedom from glasses and
contact lenses all waking hours. Read more on the other pages to see the
full picture of this remarkable treatment.
