Orthokeratology - The Treatment Process
How long does it take?The
treatment procedure lasts only a few weeks to complete, but requires
regular observation, measurement & adjustment to achieve the final
acceptable result.
How Much Does it Cost?Following examination & fitting, the treatment costs from £30 per month and includes treatment for both eyes.
What is Involved? We firstly ask that you have a full eye examination to assess whether you will be suitable to proceed with treatment. We
then measure & examine the front of the eyes in great detail to
help us calculate the exact retainer lens to use. We also photograph the
"retina" at the back of the eye, to keep a permanent record of the
health of the eye for future reference.Once this has been completed, we then know whether you are suitable to proceed
We then begin treatment by fitting the 1st retainer lenses, and giving you full instruction on their use.We
would then bring you back to the practice the morning after your 1st
overnight wearing session for your 1st check up. We would then
re-measure and refit the lenses as necessary to achieve the best
results. You will also be issued with some disposable soft lenses, if
necessary, for daytime use until the required results have been
achieved.
And Then What Happens After the Lenses Have Been Fitted?Your
next appointment will be 2 weeks later, at which point the fitting
should be quite stable, and the daytime vision totally clear. You will then
be seen at a further 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months, & as necessary.
You will be given as much
chair time as required, at no extra cost, to achieve the best possible
results.
